MAPLE SYRUP

Wood Fired

We tap 200 trees here on our property in two separate "sugarbushes." Most of the sap is collected by tubes running downhill to a main collection tank but some of the sap we boil is collected in buckets, by hand, the old fashioned way.

HONEY

Raw & Unheated

Our number one goal with bees is to keep them happy and healthy as they benefit and aid our local environment. Bees work tirelessly to fill their hives with honey during the warmer month to be used as a primary food source for surviving long, cold winters. Surplus honey taken from our hives each season is not our goal. It's simply a bonus.

WILD GROWN

Ramps & Fiddleheads

Ramps (Wild Leeks) and fiddleheads are delicious and flavorful. Both are considered a safe food to consume when properly identified and prepared. It is not uncommon to see both products available in stores during spring of each year. We harvest a small amount of both during a short period in spring, focusing our effort mostly on maintaining the long term vitality of both species in our forest.

WILD GATHERED

Hickory Nuts

If you enjoy walnuts you'll love the taste of wild hickory nuts! We gather hickory nuts in our stand of shagbark hickory trees atop our hill only during years of excessive mast production. To ensure we are leaving plenty of this resource for the critters that call our forest home, we will only harvest hickory nuts on a per-order basis. Please call ahead to check availability and to place an order.

VEGETABLES

Our property is hilly and the soil is rocky. Not great for growing vegetables. However, we maintain a sizable raised-bed garden each growing season. Our vegetables are available in our farm stand.

Blocks & Boards

WOOD PRODUCTS

We can make cut-to-order basswood carving blocks of any size and rough cut, live-edge red cedar boards (ask about availability of other woods) of any thickness. All wood is sustainably harvested from our property. The basswood was harvested from a large tree that came down in an ice storm. We do not ship wood products at this time.

WILD GATHERED

Birch Chaga

Chaga is an ugly, burnt-looking parasitic fungus to the birch tree. It's edible, nutrient dense and loaded with antioxidants. Studies have shown that chaga reduces inflammation, lowers cholesterol and blood sugar and helps support the immune system with a heavy punch of vitamins and minerals. It has also performed well in the fight against cancer. Truly a super food fungus from the northern forests! Available seasonally in dry chunk form for brewing tea. Limited quantities.

Half Pound (8 oz) Dried Chunk - $30
